Hi,
The recommended process for manually migrating an account to ourselves would be as follows:
1) Create the cPanel account at GURU for the domain to be migrated.
2) Copy over the site files and database and validate it is working through either the preview link, or editing your hosts file:
https://my.guru.co.uk/kb/getting-started/view-my-website-before-dns-changes
3 a) If email is being migrated to ourselves then:
-Create the mailbox at GURU
-Perform a mail sync now (before any DNS changes)
-Change to using our name servers (ns1.myukcloud.com and ns2.myukcloud.com) at your domain registrar
-After 72 hours perform a second mail sync
3 b) If instead you are keeping your email hosted externally:
-Update the MX records in your GURU cPanel > Zone Editor > Manage to match those at your current DNS provider
-Update the SPF record in your GURU cPanel > Zone Editor > Manage to match that at your current DNS provider
-Update any other email relevant TXT/SRV records in your GURU cPanel > Zone Editor > Manage to match those at your current DNS provider
-Change in your GURU cPanel > Email Routing the setting to Remote Mail Exchange
-Change to using our name servers (ns1.myukcloud.com and ns2.myukcloud.com) at your domain registrar
4) Optional: Transfer the domain into GURU via your GURU portal after a further 72 hours. (If it is a .uk domain then change the IPS tag after you submit the transfer request to avoid delays).
I hope this clarifies, please let us know if we can advise further.
