cPHulk Blocked IP (modsec, email, ftp, wp-login etc)

1 min read

Hi,

Thanks for your message.

This is usually due to too many visits to wp-admin or wp-login from your IP address in rapid succession. This measure is to protect your account against repeated brute force attempts.

An individual user would usually only see this if there are multiple tabs open that are logged into the back end of the website.

This ban could also have been implemented if there is a device on your network that is repeatedly trying to connect to the email or FTP server using an incorrect password, username, or TLS version. Lastly repeated cPanel login attempts will also cause IP rate limiting.

In an environment where multiple users may be accessing the wp-login page at the same time from the same public IP address (eg, an office) we can whitelist the rule for you to prevent false positives on the rate limiting by white listing the IP address (if it isn’t a dynamic IP).

I have unblocked your IP address and you should be able to log in now. If you do see this again, the rate limiting should be temporary and your IP should be able to connect after a few minutes.

Please let us know if we can provide further support with this.
